Biography

Rutik R. Isai is the Equity, Diversity, Inclusion (EDI) and Anti-Racism Specialist at the University of Saskatchewan (USask) College of Nursing. He holds a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from India and a Master of Public Health (MPH) from USask. He brings an interdisciplinary background in public health, dentistry, health equity, and institutional systems, with experience supporting inclusive learning and working environments, policy and process development, stakeholder engagement, and equity-informed organizational change.

Rutik’s work focuses on EDI and anti-racism initiatives, strategy framing, institutional planning, reporting and accountability processes, health promotion, program evaluation, knowledge translation, and systems-informed approaches to safer and more inclusive learning and care environments. His applied public health experience includes work with the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency, where he supported alcohol education, cancer prevention, health promotion resource evaluation, and evidence-informed toolkit development.

He has contributed to research and scholarly projects in oral health equity, immigrant and newcomer health, child protection in dentistry, public health, health systems, organizational learning, and health professional education. His research interests include health equity, health promotion, evaluation, organizational change, evidence synthesis, thematic analysis, environmental scanning, stakeholder consultation, survey design, and qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-methods approaches.

Rutik has supported teaching and academic work in public health and has received academic recognition including the Bronze Scholarship in the Master of Public Health program and the Dean’s Honors Award during the Bachelor of Dental Surgery.
